Welcome and thank you for visiting us at the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences - University of Khartoum webpage. The Faculty was founded in 1966 under the name “School of Medical Laboratory Technicians” as a joint venture between the Faculty of Medicine - University of Khartoum and the Ministry of Health. After that, it continued to develop under different names; the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology (1972), College of Medical Laboratory Sciences under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research umbrella (1993) and finally it becomes one of University of Khartoum Faculties in 1997.

Faculty is committed to provide students with advanced knowledge and training on medical laboratory sciences as well to the professional ethics and values. The program consists of theoretical and practical learning components in five branches of medical laboratory sciences; Parasitology & Medical Entomology, Chemical Pathology, Medical Microbiology, Haematology & Immunohaematology and Histopathology & Cytology.

Our graduates are highly skilled professionals and prepared for careers in medical laboratory sciences, they are qualified to perform laboratory investigations on blood, tissue, and body fluids to provide laboratory information for detection, diagnosis, and treatment of human diseases. They can also follow other careers in education and scientific research center. They can enter the job market and compete nationally, regionally and globally.
